Dancer's Circle Society
In 1966, The Ballet Guild of Spartanburg was chartered by a pioneering group of visionary individuals who realized a strong cultural community is vital to a quality lifestyle. In 1967, The late talented choreographer, dancer, teacher, and friend, Barbara Ferguson began a dance workshop. Thus began Ballet Spartanburg's mission through dance to inspire, enlighten, and educate young girls, boys, women, and men. In 2016 we will celebrate 50 years of changing lives through dance.
Dancers feel the connection between the body and the human spirit as they twirl, leap, dance on pointe, tap, bounce with hip-hop or jazz, kick with Irish Step, glide as a ballroom dancer, shag or retch as a Parkinson's individual.
To be a part of a dancer's world is to commit with heart, dedication, patience and love for the art of dance. Volunteers, costume mistresses, Board and committee members, stage hands, set designers and builders, dance teachers, moms, dads and families are all vital to our dancing village to help present breathtaking, unique and inspiring productions which thrill children and adults in the Spartanburg and surrounding areas.
The Dancer's Circle Society is a new giving level to honor those in our dancing village: those who have danced in the past or who dance now, past or present Board or committee members, volunteers, family members, friends or anyone you wish to recognize in memory or in honor of as a part of Ballet Spartanburg and The Dance Center.
